Bahrain: Architectural Preservation

Alaa al Habashi is a Cairo-based architect. He is currently working as the heritage conservation consultant for the Bahrain Authority for Culture and the Arts (BACA) on its restoration and rehabilitation projects in Muharraq, a historic city situated in the northern tip of Bahrain. 

The interview with Al Habashi, about his work for BACA and the wider restoration of Muharraq, was conducted as part of the research for a wider feature on the architect Anne Holtrop, commissioned by Disegno.
